This project involved the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of a large two-storey chalet-style family house dating from the 1970s. The client commissioned 105 West Architects to modernise the outdated property, creating contemporary living spaces and significantly improving the functionality of the first-floor accommodation with extensions.
Aspect360 were engaged to provide expert planning advice, ensuring the design met local amenity standards and complied fully with relevant planning policy. Their input was critical in navigating planning constraints and securing approval for the proposed works.
The architectural approach balanced respect for the original structure with a clear vision for modern living. Key interventions included reconfiguring the internal layout, expanding the ground floor to provide open-plan living, and enhancing natural light throughout the home.
