We have now submitted our eleventh planning application on behalf of the Dioceses of Guildford and Chichester, who aligned with the Church of England’s net zero targets, are delivering a series of grant-aided heat decarbonisation projects across schools in Surrey and West Sussex.
In collaboration with ReEnergise, Heat Decarbonisation Plans have been prepared for each of the schools. These plans include detailed analysis of current energy use and an assessment of opportunities for reducing carbon emissions from heating. The proposed measures typically involve the installation of air source heat pumps, alongside complementary energy efficiency improvements such as roof and cavity wall insulation. In one case, a school has successfully installed a biomass heating system.
Aspect360 has taken the lead on submitting and managing the necessary planning and listed building consent applications, guiding each project through the approvals process. Once planning permission has been secured, ReEnergise has supported the respective Diocese in applying for funding through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS).
